Currently Listening to...
I know, I haven't posted in a while. Forgive me :) I also know that the Super Bowl has come and gone. That being said, I don’t know how many of you remember and/or were paying attention during the Chevy Sonic's Super Bowl commercial, but hopefully you did and your ears were tuned into the song that was playing. That song would be “We Are Young” by Fun. I was so pumped when I heard this song come on during the commercials!
You know when you get obsessed with a song and you can’t wait to get in your car and drive just so you can listen to that song? This song does that to me. I have been listening to it over. And over. And over. It’s just one of those songs that has amazing beats and is just down right enjoyable to listen to.
Nate Ruess, Fun’s front man, was the lead singer in one of my all time favorite bands that is no more, The Format. I still don’t understand how The Format never quite made it because they were amazing, but I’m very glad that Fun is doing it! Sad news is they were supposed to be having a show here in March but I found out yesterday it has been cancelled. Oh well, that just means a road trip is in order! Good news is, their new album, Some Nights, comes out February 21st! You can go listen to a preview of the album here.

IceMilk Aprons
As I mentioned back in my Market Favs post, one of my very favorite finds at market was IceMilk Aprons. Not only are these aprons gorgeous, but the story behind them warms my heart! The owner and designer of IceMilk Aprons, Ashley Schoenith, began sewing with her grandmother, a seamstress with a love for food and cooking. Inspired by her grandmother and with a shared love, these two ladies created IceMilk Aprons. Isn’t this so cool? I want to create something with my MeMaw and NaNaw!
Each apron comes with its very own heirloom kit including the apron, heritage tag, and recipe cards. These heirloom kits are made to pass down your traditions from generation to generation. What could possibly make these cuter? Each heirloom kit is packaged in a jam jar!
The heritage tag allows you to stitch the initials of those who have inspired you in the kitchen as well as your own initials! Once you’ve stitched the initials, sew the heritage tag inside of your apron to preserve generations of tradition.
The recipe cards are to be filled out by those who have influenced you in the kitchen, sharing stories and memories for years to come.
Check out IceMilk Aprons website or facebook to read more about their story. If you are local, stop by Antique Brick Outdoors to see our new selection of these lovelies!

I love the natural colors and simple designs of these beautiful aprons. Here's a few of my favorite...
IceMilk aprons are so unique and thoughtful! I can't wait to have my own and start a tradition in my family!

Baggage (the good kind)
I have really been crushing on vintage trunks and suitcases lately! There is something so simple and charming about these little guys that I love and the fact that they all have a hidden story within them of where they've traveled, what places they've seen, and who has carried them along the way!
Over the weekend I went to an Antique Show about 30 miles away and I found this steamer trunk and just had to take it home with me! I actually bought it for Destin (my boyfriend) because he has really been eyeing them, but I knew he would share (shhh)!
I'm thinking about starting a collection...
I could stack a few alongside my bed like these.
Or in the hallway like this.
I could add legs to one and make it into an end table.
On top of a rug as a coffee table?
or perhaps like this to hold spirits?
Now I only need about 10 more! What do you think about using these multifunctional pieces of luggage throughout the home?

Market Favs
I LOVE going to market! I am thankful to have a job that allows me to get to go and see really awesome things & meet neat people! My favorite thing about market (besides buying new items for Antique Brick Outdoors) is seeing all of the displays! The designers for the companies get really creative & it is inspiring to see new and fresh ideas!
I knew that Kalalou had an amazing showroom last July, and they wowed me again this time around as well! They have such a unique mix of home products made of recycled materials!
In the front of their showroom, their designers create large displays made of their botanica. This time it was two ostriches, Ollie and Olivia!
Botanica Display
{Everything has a story}
Kalalou's products come from 9 different countries. The word Kalalou is Creole in origin for a type of soup that is never made the same way twice, much like many of the company’s artisan products. The soup is made in a social environment of family and friends with many stories being told over the chopping of ingredients.
One of my favorite items we will soon be selling at the store...IceMilk Aprons!
These are AMAZING. The story behind them makes them even better! More to share on these lovelies, soon.
We saw several mannquin dress forms for displays...
In this case maps were used! We also saw some made with the comics section of the newspaper!
Burlap & music notes garland at Peacock Park Design
Indoor/Outdoor pillows by Liora Manne! The fabrics & designs are so fun! I can't wait to get these in!
A few other shots from our weekend in Atlanta...

Green + Black
Green and Black is one of my favorite color combos as of late. The combination of the two has just enough fun and sophistication. Don't you agree?
This explains why I loved Emma Stone's take on attire for the evening at the People's Choice Awards. She was not sporting a dress like most, but a green tux jacket & black skinnies- Gucci nonetheless. It was my favorite look of the night. It definitely fits her easy going self. Emma is one of my fav actresses of the moment, and apparently everyone else’s as she was named both Favorite Comedic Actress and Favorite Movie Actress. I appreciate her quirky humor and honest personality. I’d like to think we’d be good friends!
She also took her mum to the Awards show, which I think is neat.
Some other green & black combos that I’m lovin’…
All of this
love this with the cheetah
I need this top!
What do you think of the green + black duo?
I'm going to Market for work in a few days and I'm so excited! I'll share photos of my finds next week!
Enjoy your weekend!

My weekend in Instagram
This weekend was nice and relaxing! On Saturday I spent the day Antiquing with my boyfriend, his mom and Grandmom looking for a few furniture pieces. I'm sure he had lots of fun with us three ladies. ;) I LOVE going to Antique stores, flea markets, consignments, and thrift stores. To me, it's all about the hunt of what 'treasures' you will find and how you make use of it!
{A start to our Saturday morning}
{fingers crossed}
So.much.stuff.
I just love old colorful automobiles.
This lovely piece will soon be getting a makeover. More deets to come on this beaut!
I found a few other things as well & will show them to you in posts to come!
Saturday night, Destin & I met up with some of our friends for some grub.
Me and Halee
Rick (Halee's hubby) and Destin (my boyfriend)
We ended the night listening to Mockingbird Hillbilly Band. This fun group of talented individuals can put on a show! Their music was free spirited with psychedelic flavor. They really are unlike any other while mimicking the sounds of birds and other animals throughout the show, an occasional "meow" thrown in and playing their kazoo's with their shirt hanger kazoo holders. Check them out y'all!
Happy Monday!
